Gum Treatment FAQ
Gum Treatment – Questions
Why should I be concerned about gum health?
Even if your teeth are perfectly healthy, you still need healthy gums to keep them seated and prevent tooth damage, loss, and other oral health problems.
What are the symptoms of gum disease?
Common symptoms of gum disease include bleeding, soreness, bad breath, and jaw pain. In the early stages of gum disease, however, you may notice few, if any, symptoms at all. We always recommend having regular examinations of your gum health, to ensure that any developing problems are recognized during these early stages, when treatment is simple and effective at reversing the disease.
What treatments are available?
During the early stages of gum disease, treatment might consist only of a noninvasive cleaning procedure, local medication and therapeutic rises. If your condition is more serious, we may refer you to a periodontist. We offer a full range of treatment options for gum disease, and will ensure that you receive just the right treatment for your particular condition.
How often should I have my gums examined for disease?
We recommend that you have your gums checked during your regular dental examinations, and it is our practice to include this step in every checkup.
